SWA CAT6A Cable Per Metre – This high quality network cable has a galvanised steel wire armour below the outer sheath to protect the cores below. As it is category 6, it supports internet speeds of up to 10,000mbps, which is ideal if you have a FTTP (fibre to the property) connection.

You’d ordinarily use this cable to connect two RJ45 (ethernet) sockets. For example, you’d plug your router into the ethernet socket in the house, run this cable from that socket to another ethernet socket in an outhouse, garage or shed for example. This would provide you with a high speed connection without requiring WiFi extenders or boosters. As the cable is armoured, it is protected from the elements meaning it can be used outdoors.

CAT 6 swa cable is also known as outdoor ethernet cable, direct burial internet cable, external data or network cable and whole host of other names. The Armoured cat6 cable is LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) and 24AWG (American Wire Gauge). The outer diameter is just shy of 1cm, measuring a total of 9mm OD. Like all Armoured cat5 cables we stock, the make up of the Steel is Galvanized. This is a premium build of cable and the best prices on-line for GSWA (not the cheaper corrugated steel tape).
